FOUNDATION TO INTRODUCE WAY TO BOOST CHARITABLE GIVING

The Pittsburgh Foundation says it has found a way to boost charitable giving even during hard times.
In October, when nonprofits typically are hurting for money, the foundation will introduce PittsburghGives, an online product designed to encourage openness among nonprofits and make it easier for donors to get information about causes they care about.
“We really see this as a way to reinvent the way giving gets done in this community,” said foundation CEO Grant Oliphant. “PittsburghGives is a technology that allows us to do that in ways that before now haven’t been possible.” Read More.
