Foundation Raised $100 Million in Annual Contributions for the First Time in its Centennial

The Minneapolis Foundation recently announced it raised more than $100 million in charitable gifts during the fiscal year that ended on March 31, a record for gifts made to the Foundation in a single year.

“For 102 years, we have built deep partnerships with our donors to help them increase the impact of their charitable gifts,” R.T. Rybak, president and CEO of The Minneapolis Foundation said. “Now we’re more focused than ever on building relationships between those donors, and on creating more opportunities for them to connect with people all over our community.”

The Minneapolis Foundation manages more than 1,200 charitable funds and, according to the Star Tribune, it vets nonprofits and helps donors identify community needs.

The newspaper reports that as part of its local work, the foundation hosts group sessions each year exploring community issues from health and wellness, and racial equity to school safety.
