Rebecca Blunk, Former Executive Director of NEFA, 1954-2014
Rebecca Blunk Of Brookline and Provincetown, died on June 22, 2014, at the age of 60. She was the beloved spouse of Marcie Hershman for 27 years. Born in Kansas to Robert and Katherine Blunk, sister to Scott and Judd, she moved to Boston in 1985 to be the director of performing arts for the New England Foundation for the Arts; in 2004, she became NEFAs Executive Director and for the past ten years worked regionally, nationally and internationally; accomplishments include the National Dance Project, Native Arts programs, National Theater Project, and Center Stage. She was a passionate and inspired advocate for the creative economy. She rejoiced in her large, loving circle of family and friends. A celebration of Rebeccas full life will be held at a later date.
