Leadership Transition Begins at Grantmakers for Education, Tebben Departs in March

From Anne Stanton, Chair, Grantmakers for Education:

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to inform you of a leadership transition at Grantmakers for Education. Chris Tebben has announced her departure from GFE, effective mid-March 2013, in order to seek opportunities that will offer her a greater balance between personal and professional obligations.

While we will greatly miss Chris-and her vision and dedication to the field-we are enthusiastic about the next phase of GFE's future. I personally want to thank Chris for her extraordinary service to GFE, its mission and members for the past 11 years. I am joined by my board colleagues in wishing her all the best as she pursues the next step in her life's path.

Our next executive director will take the helm of a vibrant and growing membership organization that is well positioned for an ambitious future. The board of directors has already embarked on a search for our next leader. We have formed a search committee of six board members and the committee has retained Bridgespan to lead the executive director search. Board and staff leadership are working very closely together to ensure that operations continue to deliver the quality and value our members have come to expect, and the transition is executed seamlessly.

The search for a new leader offers exciting opportunities for GFE and its membership and we look forward to announcing the launch of the search in January. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me with any thoughts or questions you may have at astanton@irvine.org.

Sincerely,

Anne Stanton

Chair, GFE Board
