Interim President/CEO Named by Association of Performing Arts Presenters
(4-13-2011) Jim Copenhaver, Senior Partner, JC Enterprises, will assume the role of Interim President/CEO for the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) effective July 1, 2011, if a permanent replacement has not yet been named. Jim will begin working with outgoing President/CEO Sandra Gibson and the staff to ensure a smooth transition. After June 30, Sandra will move into a new role as Special Executive through September to further assist with the transition. Jim's role at JC Enterprises - Focused Learning is to provide consulting services of a wide range, including leadership transition. In that role, he has served multiple organizations including The Western States Arts Federation, Colorado Symphony Association, Childsplay and The Phoenix Boys Choir among others as an interim Executive. Jim has served on the APAP Board of Directors for the past three years. He has now taken a leave of absence from the board in order to take on the duties of this interim position.
The Search Committee for President/CEO is being chaired and assembled by Josh LaBelle, Executive Director, Seattle Theater Group and Board Vice Chair. The committee expects to post the job listing and the process for submitting nominations within the next week with the goal of appointing an exceptional new leader for the Association as soon as possible.
