Member Spotlight: Peter Kiewit Foundation
For the month of June, GIA’s photo banner features work supported by Peter Kiewit Foundation.
Based in Omaha, Nebraska, Peter Kiewit Foundation has long held the belief that the vitality of the arts is essential for communities to thrive.
Established in 1979, over the course of nearly 40 years, over $100M has been invested in arts and culture organizations and their work. The arts are the heartbeat of strong and vibrant communities. The foundation’s grantees foster creativity, engage youth, develop empathy, and contribute to every community’s success.
A unique part of the foundation’s work is ArtStock, an initiative to invest in local arts and culture nonprofit organizations and strengthen the vibrancy of the Omaha arts and culture environment. ArtStock pursues this by providing capacity building grants to build organizational capacity, strengthen financial sustainability and improve operations; and by supporting a co-design process to support cohort and peer learning. (You can learn more of ArtStock here.)
Peter Kiewit Foundation joined Grantmakers in the Arts in 2016.
