This booklet and accompanying DVD document the development and growth of La Peña's “Next Generation Programming” which has featured artists from a number of cultural traditions whose work addresses social issues. The stories of their successes and challenges over the last thirty years of programming, along with interviews and comments by participating artists, are assembled for the purpose of sharing their model with other grassroots community organizations.
