Cheers from Grantmakers in the Arts! The staff and board of Grantmakers in the Arts would like to wish you a happy and healthy close to this year and warm start to the next. We’re hopeful for a new year to bring us renewed energy and better times together. Before we say goodbye to 2021, here are three big ways GIA evolved its practice. We took risks. Evolving the GIA Racial Equity Workshops into fully virtual experiences allowed for greater engagement across regions and a deeper commitment to pro-BIPOC grantmaking. We embraced our own call to action. In partnership with Art.Coop, we joined in cultural organizing seeking exposure to and learning about the solidarity economy for more economic and racial justice systems. We started working in new ways. As we maintain being in relation to colleagues and communities in Puerto Rico following the 2021 annual conference, we continue asking of ourselves how to support organizing from afar. Thank you for your contribution to our community of practice and for your continued support of artists and arts organizations. Before we’re off, check out a snapshot of our year together below and share with us some of your best successes. Our office will be closed from December 24-January 3, 2022 for the winter holiday, and the next time you hear from us will be in the new year. Until then! P.S. Don’t forget GIA is hiring!
