2017 GIA Conference: Registration Begins Thursday
Registration for the 2017 GIA Conference in Detroit, MI, will open on Thursday, June 22. This year’s conference will be held Saturday, October 28 through Tuesday, October 31, featuring over 40 sessions as well as inspiring keynote presentations and performances. GIA members will receive the first opportunity to register and a first look at the conference offerings before they are announced to the public. All GIA members are eligible for discounted conference registration.
Webinars in July: Arts in Well-being
For the month of July, Grantmakers in the Arts will host two webinars highlighting the role of arts in health and well-being. Arts in Medicine: Supporting Artists Working in Healthcare Settings will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2:00pm EDT / 11:00am PDT. Join Patricia Lambert from University of Oregon’s arts management program and Jill Sonke, director of University of Florida’s Center for the Arts in Medicine, who will share their experiences working with artists and healthcare professionals to support successful arts-in-medicine programs. Patricia and Jill participated as thought leaders at the Arts in Medicine Funders Forum earlier this year in Orlando, FL, a conversation proceeded by the release of GIA’s recent literature review. Janet Brown, GIA’s president and CEO, will moderate this discussion.
