Special Event: A Celebration on the Mississippi River
On Tuesday evening at the 2016 GIA Conference, attendees will gather on the shore of the Mississippi River for a special program and dinner. The evening’s program will celebrate the rich Native American history of the region, with a special performance by Native Pride Dancers, an artist marketplace, and dinner provided by The Sioux Chef, a Native American catering company led by Chef Sean Sherman, Oglala Lakota.

September Web Conference: Bringing Artists Together
The next GIA web conference, Bringing Artists Together: Support through Convening, will be held on Tuesday, September 27 at 2pm EDT / 11am PDT. Jonathon Glus from Houston Arts Alliance and Meg Leary from United States Artists will present examples of how artist convenings can be utilized to cultivate connections between artists and other professionals for the advancement of the artists’ careers.
